So when I try to install Opera 10 or Firefox 3.5 I get ..............
dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
so what's the fix ???? I'm getting this for and xandros network install - sure I'm a nOOb but I'd still like a little help plez.  |

The fix is just what it said, although it didn't say it in terms that are clear to a lot of people. You need to run the command it said from a root (admin) console. Click Launch, Applications, System, Administrator Tools, Console (Administrator), then enter in the root/Admin password when it asks for it. Then enter the command exactly as it was given in the error message and push Enter.
You may have some problem installing Firefox 3.5, but there's a procedure you need to go through to do it described somewhere on these forums. Opera 10 will install just fine; I'm using it now. The version I installed was opera_10.00.4585.gcc3.qt3_i386.deb, downloaded from Opera's site. _________________ I refuse to live in a country like this - and I'm not leaving. - Michael Moore |
