I running Xandros 4.5 on a Dell Optiplex GX150. I cant find either in the Xandros network. One being Konversation which i have used in Xandros 4. The other is Ktorrent. When i install from the console I get this .
ome packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
konversation: Depends: kdelibs4c2a (>= 4:3.5.5-1) but it is not installable

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
ktorrent: Depends: kdelibs4c2a (>= 4:3.5.5-1) but it is not installable
E: Broken packages. What seems to be the problem here?

Xandros Desktop 4.5 uses KDE 3.4.2, but the application*
was packed for KDE 3.5.5. Use "Alien Trick". Instructions:
http://forums.xandros.com/viewtopic.php?t=33654

"Synaptic Packet Manager" is included with XD 4.5 CD.
But also available from "Xandros Debian Unsupported Site":
# deb http://xnv45.xandros.com/4.5oc/pkg/ oc4.5-xn main contrib non-free
# deb http://xnv45unsup.xandros.com/4.5oc/upkg/ etch main contrib non-free

Alternatively from "Debian Old-Stable repositories":
# deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ etch main contrib non-free

An almost complete repository list (scroll down):
http://forums.xandros.com/viewtopic.php?t=30583

Community download server for EeePC/Desktop 4.5:
http://www.piratesladd.com/repository/xandros_45etch/
*=Heres "KTorrent" plus necessary dependency.
http://www.piratesladd.com/repository/internet/ktorrent/xandros45/
ktorrent_2.0.2-1xandros45.deb

I realize you have your own favorite torrent program.
I personally like bittorando. If you use it....also get bittornado-gui. Give it a whirl...and you'll forget about ktorrent...I promise you.

Personally I like utorrent but i no longer have windows on the system. I'm using bittornado now. When I start a download it opens a small download box. And the links details advanced prefs and about dosent function. I dont know if that is the GUI you speak of but willing to try.

you might try the old azureus from the geekdownloads.com/downloads page.
Its a good java based torrent program.
I have used utorrent in Windows...didn't like it so much. In Windows I use Bitlord 1.1.
